○ looked like a boy when she was a baby
○ somewhat self-conscious of her skin tone, which is darker than her family's
○ 5’8’’, leggy, and flaily, but stick thin to the point that she hasn’t got much strength/stamina
○ spent a good portion of her rougher days in the same pair of sweats and the most ghastly mop of hair, but when circumstances allow will be the first to meticulously dress up
○ when at home and sleeping late, has no issues looking like the living dead
- has an insatiable appetite for horror movies, psychological thrillers, and gritty documentaries
- alternates between inordinate amounts of snacks throughout the day and abrupt starvation diets when her face bloats the next morning
- treats the floor like an extension of the closet, the kitchen table, bed, etc.
- on the contrary, gets a kick out of organizing
- can fall asleep wherever/whenever, on command
- considers making weird faces and imitating people’s voices part of her skill set
ester has had aspirations of being a dancer since she was five. this was furthered by the fact that she'd never been interested in studying the way her parents would have liked, or found much else that she was good at as she grew up. nevertheless, she did end up worming her way into uc riverside, missing various deadlines and incessantly switching majors. after a brief affair with a man from the east coast, she gave up her college education altogether in her third year and ran off to the other side of the country, family expectations be damned.
abandoning her mediocre prospects for an older boyfriend and promises of grandeur turned out to be a sorely poor idea. it only took four months for things to fall apart, though it was as much her fault as his. she didn’t waste time dwelling on it, but for the longest time she was in a real financial jam and felt undeserving of asking her parents for help. only the most basic shred of self-respect was what kept her from trying to find work in a strip club. that was when she met him.
at the time she was living in the basement area of an apartment building that wasn’t even supposed to be rented out. she had no phone, no job, no credit card, no heating or air conditioning, and no kindly neighbors. to think that someone was willing to pay for her living expenses in exchange for company - and he wasn’t exactly bad company - she wasn’t going to pass that up. knowing what she knows, she hardly trusts him, but assures herself that she doesn’t mind and might as well take what she can get. currently her motivation to go back to school or face her parents is at an all time low, though she is still job-searching.
ester needs them all \o/ people she harasses, people who look down on her for various reasons, people to spend money with, people to yell at, people to latch onto, people who find her annoying, anything else you’d like to cook up! if you want to talk more via pm, or link me to your plotpage, or an open thread, i’m all for that too ♥
